About Me

My experience as an educator includes roles as an elementary school teacher, Technology Support Teacher, Instructional Technology Specialist, Technology Mentor Teacher, Curriculum Writer, and Program Designer. Over my 18 years of teaching, I have worked with 2nd, 3rd, and 5th-grade students. During this time, I introduced newscasts as an innovative educational tool, utilizing creative techniques in Educational Technology.

Faced with limited access to digital tablets for my students, my husband and I took matters into our own hands and purchased iPads through eBay, bridging the gap until we could secure a full class set. In a single school year, I successfully secured over $7,000 in funding through multiple mini-grants on DonorsChoose.org. This enabled me to drive forward projects focused on flexible seating, STEAM, project-based learning, coding, and implementing a blended learning environment with 1:1 iPads, all while incorporating digital portfolios.

My approach to teaching emphasizes high levels of technology integration, leveraging the SAMR model to achieve Modification and Redefinition. I also draw upon the T-PACK model and the P21 Framework's 4Cs to enrich the learning experience. My instructional design is rooted in adherence to ISTE standards, College and Career Readiness Standards, and Social-Emotional Learning standards, ensuring a comprehensive and well-rounded educational journey for my students.

Currently, I am a small business entrepreneur, homeschool mother/STEAM teacher collaborator for the community, and Innovation Consultant.
