About the Course

The "Seesaw for School Leaders" workshop is designed to empower educational leaders with the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively implement and manage the Seesaw platform within their schools. Seesaw is a powerful digital portfolio and communication tool that enhances student engagement, collaboration, and parent-teacher communication. This workshop will guide school leaders through the process of leveraging Seesaw to create a more dynamic and interactive learning environment.

Objectives:

By the end of the workshop, participants will be able to:

  1. Understand the key features and benefits of Seesaw for enhancing student learning and communication.
  2. Create and manage a school-wide Seesaw account.
  3. Effectively train teachers on using Seesaw to enhance classroom instruction.
  4. Facilitate collaboration and engagement among students, teachers, and parents using Seesaw.
  5. Develop strategies to integrate Seesaw into the school's curriculum and learning objectives.
  6. Address potential challenges and implement best practices for successful Seesaw adoption.
  7. Evaluate the impact of Seesaw on student learning outcomes and parent engagement.

Assignment for Follow-up Debrief: Participants are required to create a sample Seesaw post or activity that showcases a student's work, encourages interaction, and aligns with a hypothetical lesson theme provided. The assignment aims to demonstrate participants' understanding of using Seesaw for engagement and learning. This assignment will be discussed and analyzed during the follow-up debrief session.

The goal of the follow-up debrief is to reflect on participants' experiences, share insights, and collectively work on strategies to further integrate Seesaw effectively within their schools.

Course Content

Follow-up Debrief Agenda: 1-hour Session

Review of Assignment (15 minutes)

  • Participants share their sample Seesaw posts/activities
  • Discussion on different approaches and creativity

Module 5: Reflecting on Implementation (15 minutes)

  • Sharing experiences and challenges in applying Seesaw
  • Discussing successful strategies and best practices

Module 6: Scaling Up and Future Plans (15 minutes)

  • Brainstorming ways to expand Seesaw usage in participants' schools
  • Identifying next steps for continuous improvement

Wrap-up and Action Planning (15 minutes)

  • Summarizing key takeaways from the debrief session
  • Creating a personal action plan for refining Seesaw implementation

Conclusion (5 minutes)

  • Acknowledging participants' commitment to enhancing their schools through Seesaw
  • Expressing anticipation for future collaboration and learning opportunities
